BKK Travelogue - Day 3 & 4

Didn't I promise I'll be back soon?? Here I'm back within 2 weeks, not a long hiatus I thought? :p

This entry also marks my last blogpost of 2013.
PSst: Day 1 & 2 of Sam's & my BKK #sctravelogue can be viewed here.

Here we go..Day 3 & 4 of our BKK #sctravelogue

*****
DAY 3

A rainy Day 3 :(

You know it gets very troublesome shopping on rainy days. You gotta carry the umbrella, you gotta walk very slowly & you gotta clean away those disgusting black dirt stains that got onto your feet, legs & even your shorts (I thought I walk very slowly already???). Mood dampens X10000 please!!

Initial plan was to head to Pratunam Market for shopping but we were too late for it. I read some reviews that the best timing to shop Pratunam Market (where you can get cheap trill deals) is around 6-7am *insert yawning face*. I would rather snuggle in my cosy bed. Well, I've got Platinum Mall, what’s there to scare?? HAHAH!!

Since we were too early for Saeb X2 (YESSS!! Wanton Mee AGAINZZ!), I went shopping at some early market (forget which market though). My Mr. Grumpy was feeling grouchy that morning cos of all the disgusting black stains that got onto his legs & I guess he just couldn't understand how I can continue my shopping non-stop!! #便宜不能放. Mr Grumpy was telling me he rather go Siam Paragon to wait for the mall to open their doors for operation than walking around in this “chao sng market” -.-  #gotsoseriousmeh

Grrrrrrrr..

Day 3 #ootd

I know I know you guys are really getting sick of my daily Saab X2 wanton mee breakfast. D:
I promise this is the FINAL breakfast pic with Sab X2.
And I finally we got to try the braised intestines!!! To be safe, go around after 10.30am if you want to try their intestines yah :)

Pomegranate juice cart outside Saeb X2

Glow's Pool facilities which we got no time to enjoy.
HAHAHA

This looks pretty familiar??
But ours are much better :p

Last mirror picture before we check out of Glow :(

Our next 1 night accommodation is yet another pretty good hotel.

CENTARA WATERGATE PAVILLION HOTEL BANGKOK
567 RATCHAPRAROP ROAD, MAKKASAN, RATCHATHEWI, BANGKOK 10400

A little comparison between Glow & Centara Watergate
Location:  Glow is nearer to Platinum than Centara. But massage parlours are easily accessible from Centara then Glow.
Facilities: Glow has swimming pool & gym. Centara only has gym. Both have high speed Wi-Fi services.
Toiletries: Glow provides full sized toiletries but Centara provides small travel-size toiletries. Centara does not have bed-room slippers which Glow provides.
Cost: Glow is slightly costlier than Centara. My 1-night stay in Centara with breakfast is cheaper than my  1-night stay in Glow.
Services: Both are equally good.

Overall, Glow is still my preferred hotel choice in BKK.

The reception cum lobby area

Cafe 9 - where we will be having our breakfast

You gotta check this lil' attraction outside their lobby.
Nope, this is not a swimming pool.
It is just an area for you to lie down & relax.

My FAV drink whenever I'm in BKK.
Got this at the mini-mart at the basement of Centara.

Checking In...
18th floor again?? Same as Glow.

Room 1806!!!!
GOT SO COINCIDENCE ANOT? SAME ROOM NO. AS GLOW!!!!
Check out below pic for our room no. at Glow.
Well, I checked. Number did not appear in 4D results :O

After all the room photos, it is Lunch time.
In fact, all the pictures below are "back-to-back" food post within Day 3.
Lunch --> Dessert --> 8 Course Dinner
D:

Lunch time

GREYHOUND CAFE
3RD FLOOR, SIAM CENTER

Complimentary buns

Must Order!!

Shit, I forget the name of this dish.
But this is some basil/pesto pasta, which tasted really horrible!!!!!
Dislike the basil/pesto taste. Yucks!! ><

Always go for the safer choice when in doubt.
Think this is some cream based pasta or carbonara, which tasted pretty okay.

Dessert Time

MR. JONES ORPHANAGE
3RD FLOOR, SIAM CENTER

Read some reviews that the desserts served are pretty meh. Doesn't taste as good as they looks. Some reviewed the desserts are delish.

So, why not just give it a try since you are already there??
We are glad we did, cos the only dessert (Choky Mud Pie) we ordered was really YUMMMY!

Didn't plan to go Madame Tussaud Bangkok.
Make do with a pic of Tom Cruise is enough for us.

OH MY! You mean it is dinner time?? :OOOOO
Yayayaya, some 8 course Japanese Western fusion dinner place as recommended by Sam's godparents. We did not want to give this place a miss, so we went ahead even though we were like 65% fulled :SSSS
#fatdieus

OVERLY OVERLY B L O A T E D!!!!

Verdict: A super for value 8 course meal which you can enjoy both Japanese & Western fushion. Service level is excellent; we got attend to pretty fast. Food served are of desirable quality. Worth giving a try :)

That pretty sums up our Day 3.
A non-stop eating day!! HAHA

DAY 4

Also our last day in BKK :(

mandatory #ootd before we head out.
Finally no more Saeb X2.

Off to Chatuchak after breakfast

Sam & I got ourselves a watch each.
Super good deal. But don't think we can change battery once it dies on us.
What to expect when it is 100 baht only??

Tee Hee...
Super cute Mango man.

Didn't try this cos the milk tea looks super duper sweeeet.
Doesn't look it can quench our thirst at all.

We settled for something else instead..
...
..
.

COCONUT ICE-CREAM!!!!
Believe it anot, our main purpose of coming Chatuchak.
I AM SO HAPPY WE FINALLY FOUND IT!!! :DDDD
We walked rounds & rounds & rounds before we spot this authentic Coconut Ice-cream stall, just because I INSISTED on trying the authentic coconut ice-cream.

Complimentary coconut drink while waiting for our ice-cream.

One each.

Another one more for sharing :)

And zooooomz...off to Union Mall for our next destination.

Sadly, didn't really shop much at Chatuchak cos of the lack of time!!! :( We need to head back to Centara to check out by 1pm. Stupid us should have check out before starting our Day 4 itinerary right! I was thinking we can head back to our room for a quick bath after Chatuchak.

Only 1 photo of Union Mall cos I went SPEED SHOPPING right after this snapshot.
Clothing here are priced higher than Platinum, but they do have some awesome stuffs.

Too many shops, so little time :(

Sam seeing me so "desperate" called Centara to ask for a even later check out.
Sam lied that we got stuck at Asiatique cos there are some ferry issues and that we could't come back to check out in time.

Thank God, he manage to extend to 3pm!!!!!
YAYYYYYYY!! <3 <3

The only massage place we went twice, which is within walking distance from Centara.
Loved that they have Cream Massage.
In my opinion, cream massage are less oily than oil massage.
